OCTOBER HAS ENTERED THE HUMIDOR
King of the Leaf Cigar Club — October 2026
October at King of the Leaf has never been a month for playing it safe.
The nights get longer, Halloween takes over, and suddenly smoking something dark, strange, limited, or just a little sinister feels completely appropriate. So when we started building the October 2026 Cigar of the Month packs, we decided to lean all the way into it.
For our Signature members, that means something pretty ridiculous: all five cigars in this month's pack are limited-edition releases. No filler. No ordinary everyday selections tucked in to round out the count. Five cigars, five special releases, including our newest KOTL Exclusive.
Our Grand Tier takes a different approach. This month's lineup is about premium tobacco, distinctive blends, unusual formats, and cigars we believe deserve some uninterrupted time in your chair.
Before we get into any of them, though, we want to say something that matters more than what's inside the box:
Thank you.
Every month you allow us to choose what goes into your humidor. That's something we don't take lightly. Whether you've been with King of the Leaf for years or this is your first box, your membership allows us to keep hunting for limited releases, supporting boutique manufacturers, creating our own KOTL Exclusives, and putting together packs that we would genuinely want to receive ourselves.
So, from everyone at King of the Leaf: thank you for continuing to ride with us.
Now let's open the crypt.
🎃 SIGNATURE TIER
Five Cigars. Five Limited Editions.
This month the Signature Tier isn't just Halloween-themed—the entire lineup feels like it belongs in October.
We've got unusual wrappers, small-batch Caldwell projects, a cowboy who apparently refused to stay dead, and a machine of our own creation.
BLK WKS CULTURE VULTURE LIMITED EDITION
Toro — 6 x 48
We're starting October with one of the strangest-looking cigars in the box—and we mean that as a compliment.
Black Works Studio's Culture Vulture is a 2026 limited edition handcrafted at Fábrica Oveja Negra in Estelí, Nicaragua, under the direction of James Brown. BLK WKS describes it as its boldest profile to date, and visually, there's no mistaking it for anything else in your humidor.
The cigar uses an unusual multi-wrapper construction combining Ecuadorian Maduro, Connecticut and Candela, creating the distinctive ombré-like appearance that immediately jumps out at you. Beneath that sits an Ecuadorian Habano binder and Nicaraguan filler. Your Signature pack includes the 6 x 48 Toro.
Culture Vulture is exactly the kind of cigar we like putting into the club. It's unapologetically boutique, limited, and designed by a cigar maker who has never seemed particularly interested in making what everyone else is making.
In other words: perfect October material.
CALDWELL CRAFTED & CURATED SAVAGES MALPENSANTE
Toro — 6 x 54
If you've followed Caldwell for a while, the word Savages probably already has your attention.
The Savages Malpensante comes from Caldwell's Crafted & Curated program—a series Robert Caldwell uses for small-batch experiments, collaborations and one-off projects. These aren't intended to become permanent humidor residents. They're made in small quantities, released, and then the next experiment begins.
Malpensante translates roughly to the cynic, which already sounds like somebody we'd invite to our Halloween party.
The 6 x 54 cigar features a Habano 2000 wrapper, Sumatran binder and aged Dominican fillers. The profile centers around earth, pepper, coffee and sweetness, and production was limited to just 400 boxes.
There's plenty of classic Caldwell DNA here, but Crafted & Curated is about taking something recognizable and pushing it somewhere different.
That's precisely why it's in your October box.
CALDWELL MOONCAKE LIMITED EDITION
Robusto — 5 x 50
Yes, we're giving you two Caldwell releases this month.
No, we're not apologizing.
Mooncake is a new spin on Caldwell's cult-favorite Yellow Cake, reimagining that concept through a Connecticut-seed wrapper.
If Yellow Cake is the original recipe, think of Mooncake as its smoother, creamier cousin—the one who arrives at the family gathering looking suspiciously well put together.
The idea behind Mooncake is to retain the character that made Yellow Cake such a fan favorite while introducing the mellow sweetness and creamy qualities associated with Connecticut tobacco. Much of the rest of the blend remains deliberately under wraps, so this isn't one we're going to ruin by pretending we know every leaf inside it.
Your Signature selection is the compact 5 x 50 Robusto, which gives the blend plenty of wrapper influence and makes it an excellent change of pace between some of the heavier hitters in October's pack.
Limited release. Fall-oriented profile. Caldwell being Caldwell.
It belongs here.
SINISTRO THE LAST COWBOY GHOUL LIMITED EDITION
Robusto — 5 x 54 Box Press
You can't have a Halloween pack without at least one cigar that looks like it crawled out of the grave.
Enter The Last Cowboy GHOUL.
Sinistro took its Last Cowboy concept and gave it the Halloween treatment, complete with one of the more memorable undead-cowboy presentations we've seen. Your cigar comes in a substantial 5 x 54 box-pressed Robusto, giving it that dense, hefty feel in the hand before you've even lit it.
And this is one of those cigars where presentation matters. The skeletal gunslinger on the band, the rustic styling and the Halloween release all make GHOUL feel less like somebody slapped a seasonal secondary band onto an existing cigar and more like a cigar that was actually made for this time of year.
Smoke it on October 31st.
Or smoke it tomorrow.
We don't actually enforce Halloween law around here.
KOTL EXCLUSIVES MACHINA LIMITED EDITION
Petite Gordo — 4½ x 60
And finally, something from our own house.
MACHINA.
The newest release from KOTL EXCLUSIVES joins the family of small-production projects we've created specifically for King of the Leaf members and customers.
For MACHINA, we went with an unusual 4½ x 60 Petite Gordo format—a short, thick cigar designed to deliver a concentrated smoking experience without requiring you to clear your entire evening.
And because this is the October box, MACHINA wasn't going to arrive dressed like a spring release.
The entire project was built around a darker Halloween aesthetic, but the cigar itself is the important part. KOTL Exclusives gives us an opportunity to create cigars specifically around what our own customers and club members enjoy rather than simply selecting something from somebody else's catalog.
That makes putting one into the club particularly satisfying.
You're not just receiving a cigar we found.
You're receiving one we made for you.

👑 GRAND TIER
Now We Bring Out the Heavy Artillery
Grand Tier is where we get especially picky.
The goal isn't simply to find expensive cigars. Price alone doesn't make a cigar interesting. We want unusual tobacco, thoughtful blending, strong provenance, interesting construction, or something with a story behind it.
October's Grand lineup checks those boxes.
WARPED SARTO
Toro — 6 x 52
SARTO has one of the most personal stories in this month's box.
Warped founder Kyle Gellis created SARTO as a tribute to his beloved Cane Corso, who passed away following a lengthy battle with idiopathic epilepsy. Warped describes both the dog and the cigar with three words: big, bold and strong.
That's not just marketing language—the blend backs it up.
The cigar is made at NACSA in Nicaragua using a dark Connecticut Broadleaf wrapper over a Nicaraguan binder and Nicaraguan fillers. Its profile brings together chocolate, black pepper, leather, oak and cream.
Grand members receive the 6 x 52 Toro.
Broadleaf. Nicaragua. Warped.
Those three things rarely result in a boring hour.
CALDWELL CRAFTED & CURATED SAVAGES MALPENSANTE
Toro — 6 x 54
Grand members also get a shot at Savages Malpensante, and for good reason.
As mentioned above, this isn't simply another Caldwell regular-production blend. It's part of the experimental Crafted & Curated program and limited to only 400 boxes. The 6 x 54 combines a Habano 2000 wrapper, Sumatran binder and aged Dominican filler.
There's earth and pepper, coffee and sweetness, but what makes it especially interesting is how Caldwell approaches these projects: recognizable DNA without simply recreating an old cigar.
Smoke this one slowly.
There's more going on than the first half-inch lets on.
LAMPERT 1675 EDICIÓN VERDE OVAL
Toro Grande — 6 x 56
This is where October gets particularly interesting.
The 1675 Edición Verde is the first oval-shaped cigar in the Lampert portfolio, and every tobacco used in the blend has been aged for at least five years. It is handcrafted in Nicaragua by the master rollers at AGROTABACOS.
The exterior is a naturally dark Mexican Negro San Andrés wrapper. Lampert keeps the binder and filler undisclosed because of the limited tobacco selection used for the project. The blend delivers a full-bodied profile with dark roasted coffee, leather, anise, cardamom and smoky wood among its defining characteristics.
You're getting the big boy: the 6 x 56 Oval Toro Grande.
And yes, "oval" means exactly what it sounds like.
Instead of a conventional round cigar or standard box press, the cigar has an elongated oval profile. It feels surprisingly natural between the fingers and gives this cigar an identity before the flame ever touches it.
San Andrés, five-year-aged tobaccos and an unconventional press?
That's Grand Tier territory.
GELLIS FAMILY CIGARS ABSOLUTOS
Toro — 6 x 52
If the name Gellis sounds familiar after reading about Warped, there's a reason.
Gellis Family Cigars comes from Kyle Gellis, founder of Warped, and Absolutos represents the family's Nicaraguan side of the portfolio.
This 6 x 52 soft box-pressed Toro is produced at NACSA in Estelí and is a genuine Nicaraguan puro, constructed entirely from sun-grown Nicaraguan tobacco. The blend draws tobacco from four of Nicaragua's celebrated growing regions: Estelí, Ometepe, Condega and Jalapa.
That's basically a Nicaraguan road trip without having to explain anything to Customs.
The profile delivers rich spice, fruit, brown sugar, white pepper, caramel, leather and cedar, with a medium-plus body.
The soft box press also gives the cigar a different feel than a sharply pressed stick, while allowing that combination of tobaccos from four growing regions to remain the real star.
For the tobacco nerds in the club, this is one to pay attention to.
AGANORSA LEAF ANIVERSARIO CONNECTICUT TUBO
Toro — 6 x 52
We finish October with a cigar that proves "Connecticut" and "boring" should never have become synonyms.
The Aganorsa Leaf Aniversario Connecticut Tubo takes an Ecuadorian Connecticut-seed wrapper and places it over an Aganorsa-grown Nicaraguan binder and filler. Unlike the existing box-pressed Aniversario Connecticut Toro, this special 6 x 52 presentation is round and individually housed in an aluminum tubo.
That distinction matters.
Aganorsa's Nicaraguan tobacco provides the backbone, while the Connecticut wrapper brings a softer exterior character to the blend. It's a cigar that can deliver elegance without becoming anonymous.
The Aniversario line represents Aganorsa's ultra-premium side, built around rich and complex expressions of the company's celebrated Nicaraguan tobacco.
And presentation-wise, that deep blue Aniversario tubo certainly doesn't hurt.
It's a fitting final cigar for a Grand pack that moves from Broadleaf to Habano, San Andrés, Nicaraguan sun-grown tobacco and finally Connecticut.
Five cigars. Five very different conversations.
UNTIL NEXT MONTH…
Whether you're opening the Signature box full of limited editions or working your way through this month's Grand selections, we hope October's pack reminds you what King of the Leaf Cigar Club is supposed to be about:
Discovery.
Some cigars will come from brands you already love. Some will be releases you might never have purchased on your own. Some will disappear before you ever see them again. And occasionally, we'll put something in the box that came directly from us.
That's the fun of it.
Once again, thank you to every single King of the Leaf member for your continued support. There are a lot of places you can spend your cigar money, and the fact that you trust us to build your pack every month means more to us than we can adequately put into a postcard.
Speaking of that postcard…
DON'T THROW IT AWAY.
Your October box includes your monthly postcard with your members-only discount code word. Use that code for 15% OFF your purchases here at King of the Leaf and at Cigar Dagger.
And here's the important part:
YOUR 15% MEMBER DISCOUNT STACKS ON TOP OF SALE PRICES.
That means when something on either site is already marked down, your member code takes another 15% off the sale price. Depending on the item, your actual savings can be considerably more than the standard member discount.
It's one of the perks of being in the club, so use it.
Enjoy the cigars, have a killer Halloween, and we'll see you next month.
Long Live the King. 👑
